Full Spectrum or CBD Isolate?

Full Spectrum or CBD Isolate?

There are a ton of CBD products on the market but most often you will hear the terms “full spectrum” and “isolate”. Full spectrum hemp and CBD isolate have one thing in common, which is that both comes from the hemp plant.

Full Spectrum

Full spectrum hemp extract is oil that is extracted from the hemp plant and contains all of the cannabinoids and compounds found in the original hemp plant. This oil is comprised of an array of cannabinoids such as CBD, CBDA, CBN, CBG, and trace amounts of THC and THCA. The full spectrum hemp oil also contains a variety of terpenes, vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, and proteins. Some people prefer full spectrum hemp due to the “entourage effect”. Based on some studies the entourage effect means when all the cannabinoids work together, it becomes more effective.

Now this may not be feasible for everyone as small amounts of THC can build up in your system over time after consuming full spectrum hemp products and may be detected in certain drug tests.

CBD Isolate

CBD isolate is the most purest form of CBD. When hemp undergoes the extraction process to remove its cannabinoids, all of the plant’s compounds are rigorously extracted. Therefore no other cannabinoids, terpenes, or flavonoids are left behind. This means CBD isolate contain zero THC and will not trigger a false positive for marijuana during drug tests. You won’t have to worry about the risk of psychoactive effects. Not to mention it is odorless and tasteless.

Since CBD isolate is the purest non synthetic form of CBD available, it makes CBD isolate products an ideal choice for people looking for high potency CBD products. For example, if you buy a 1000mg bottle of full spectrum CBD hemp oil, you are usually not getting 1000mg of CBD but instead 1000mg of the collective cannabinoids found in that particular oil. However, a 1000mg bottle of hemp oil derived from CBD isolate should have 1000mg of CBD. High potency CBD has been shown to have many health benefits. Furthermore, CBD isolate in its most basic and purest form allows many versatile methods of use and application.

So which one is better?

Simply said, there is no best type of CBD because everyone is different and everyone’s body reacts differently to each. It’s a matter of deciding what works for you.
